MEASURED IMPACT

Data, case studies & proof behind Fast Training

Proven gains. Measured impact.

MaxBP doesn’t just train reaction speed - it builds better hitters. Explore the data, case studies, and real-world results that show how precision reps translate to stronger swings, higher averages, and harder contact.

  • Increase in hard contact %

  • Boost in batting average

  • Faster reaction time at the plate

Case Study Objectives

& Methodology

The goal of this case study was simple: partner with an independent third party to measure the real impact of MaxBP training on hitting performance. Rather than relying on anecdotal success stories, we set out to collect hard data showing how vision, timing, and hand eye coordination training translate to measurable on field results.

While countless players and coaches have credited MaxBP with boosting confidence and improving performance, we wanted to move beyond perception and back it up with proof. Working with the third-party agency Big Fly Collective, we designed a controlled 15-game study featuring a 13U baseball player. Key offensive metrics were tracked across two phases: a baseline period before integrating MaxBP and a four week focused training cycle followed by continued MaxBP use throughout the 15 game study.

Performance was measured across four primary hitting KPIs:

01. Batting Average (AVG)

Overall hitting success

02. Hard Hit Balls (HHB)

Percentage of balls struck with authority

03. Line Drive Percentage (LD%)

Quality of contact and swing path efficiency

04. Quality At-Bat Percentage (QAB%)

Productivity and plate discipline

The training cycle was built around four MaxBP drills selected for their proven ability to target the most critical components of hitting performance: vision, timing, and barrel control. Each drill was chosen with a specific developmental outcome in mind.

Hand - Eye Coordination Drills

Reasoning: Success at the plate begins with the eyes. Baseball is a reaction sport measured in milliseconds, and players must recognize pitch type, location, and speed instantly. These drills were included to sharpen visual tracking and improve reaction time, ensuring hitters could process and respond to live game situations faster.

Top Hand Drill

Reasoning: The top hand guides the barrel through the hitting zone. A strong, controlled top hand improves accuracy, keeps the bat on plane, and reduces rollover ground balls. We selected this drill to strengthen barrel awareness and increase the percentage of clean, squared-up contact.

Bottom - Hand Drill

Reasoning: The bottom hand is the engine of the swing. By isolating this movement, hitters develop better swing path mechanics, improved extension through the zone, and the ability to generate consistent power. This drill was chosen to create more line drives and elevate hard-contact rates.

Game - Speed Reps

Reasoning: Practice only translates to performance when it mirrors competition. Game speed reps simulate the velocity, timing windows, and unpredictability of live pitching. This drill was included to bridge the gap between training and game performance, building confidence and rhythm at the plate.

In short: These four drills were selected because they work together as a system. Hand-eye training sharpens recognition, top and bottom hand drills refine mechanics, and game-speed reps ensure the improvements hold up under pressure. The result is a comprehensive training cycle that directly impacts the metrics that matter most. Completing these drills 4 days per week, over a 4 week period using MaxBP Pro Machine allowed for a high amount of volume due to the nature of the machine.  Additionally, MaxBP was utilized during practices, and pre-game during the 15 game test period.

VALIDATING MAXBP - RESULTS

After the 4 week training cycle, built around four core drills, hitters recorded significant improvements across every key metric over a 15 game study: more hits, more hard contact, and more productive at bats.

WHAT THE DATA TELLS US

Higher Batting Averages

By sharpening recognition and timing, hitters were consistently putting the barrel on the ball. The leap from .165 to .375 shows MaxBP reps translate directly into game day results.

More Hard Contact

Top-hand and bottom hand drills improved barrel control and swing efficiency, producing a dramatic increase in hard hit balls - the kind of contact that wins games.

Improved Swing Path

Line drive percentage nearly tripled, proving hitters weren’t just making contact, they were making the right contact.

Smarter At Bats

With improved pitch recognition and confidence, QAB% climbed to 61%, a sign of plate discipline and situational hitting.
